Inside the laboratory, the mannequin is equipped with a bed to sleep on. The bedrooms have climate controlled systems. The room temperature can be set between 10 and 40 degrees Celsius, and the humidity between 0% and 90%. In this way, it is possible to simulate almost any bedroom environment in the world and find the right ingredients for a duvet in a specific climate.

Based on the results obtained by DYKON during their research, they created a database to show how materials, down and feather qualities interact with each other and how a down comforter “performs” under specific conditions. The sleep laboratory can therefore develop the perfect duvet for its customers and even calculate optimal sleeping comfort.
